In addition to driving his daughter completely and totally nuts, Dave Edwards is an award winning composer of childrens music and instrumental songs. Dave has been the recipient of the following awards for his musical compositions:
2002 - Outstanding Achievement in the Music Business Award from the Connecticut Songwriters Association. Dave received this award for the licensing agreement he reached with Lifebank, USA for the use of his song "A Baby's Lullaby". Lifebank is producing and marketing a CD-ROM for expectant parents, with an initial production run of over 40,000 CDs.
2000 - 2nd Place, "Quiet Desolation", 2000 Millenium Contest.
1999 - Finalist, "A Baby's Lullaby", 1999 Unisong International Song Competition.
1998 - A Best of CSA Award, (Connecticut Songwriters Association), for "A Baby's Lullaby". "A Baby's Lullaby" was also included in the 1998 Best of CSA compilation audio tape.

1998 - 5th Place, "Love's Intentions", 1998 Creative Open MIDI Contest, sponsored by the makers of Sound Blaster products. This contest was also featured in Music & Computers magazine.
Dave attended the University of Connecticut, where
he studied trumpet with William Vacchiano, retired principal trumpet of the New York Philharmonic, Bill Babcock, who played with the Chicago Symphony and Sam Goldfarb, a clinician for the Benge trumpet company. He also studied music composition with the renowned jazz musician, Hale Smith.
After graduating from college, Dave went on to create mischief and mayhem at a number of different places.
He is the former lead trumpet of the Grammy nominated
Dick Pillar Orchestra, the Nutmeg Summer Theatre and The Little Big Band. He is also a former Solo Cornet with The Classic Brass, a British Brass Band.
Dave has also performed with Main Street, a popular Top 40
band based in Hartford, CT, the Danbury Symphony, the Manchester Symphony, the Meriden Symphony, the Ars Nova Brass Quintet and the Coventry Chamber Brass.
Dave currently performs as a member of the Fanfare Brass Choir and the Victorian Quadrille Band, both based out of Springfield, MA. He is also a volunteer for Bugles Across America. In 2007, Dave sounded "Taps" as part of final military honors, for over 70 veterans and their families.
